The Fender PM 180E mandolin produces a powerful and bright sound thanks to its teardrop-shaped A-style design, which ends out for a long time in the overtones. The spruce top is traditionally equipped with F sound holes, the lower one of which is half covered with a black pickguard. Mahogany back and sides complement the sound with a pleasant warm note, making it ideal for light strummings and expressive pickings. The maple neck is equipped with a 'V' profile and offers the player optimal access to all 21 frets incorporated into a walnut fingerboard. For decoration and orientation, the fingerboard is marked with filigree Snowflake inlays, which are visually perfectly matched to the buttons of the open chrome mechanisms. The adjustable walnut bridge is precisely matched to the fine-notched 28.4mm bone nut allowing the mandolin to intonate cleanly throughout the 354mm scale scale. For use on stage, the PM 180E is equipped with a pickup system that transmits the acoustic sound authentically to the amplifier.
